Beach fishing again? What a life!

I took a few friends Pappa Jim Rigsby and Stacy Corbin beach fishing for a few days. I am very secretive about where I beach fish, so it wasn't a surprise that Stacy wrote me this after we got back.

"So after years of fishing Baja and countless emails begging Grant for tips on where to go and what to throw, I can now check snook on the fly off the bucket list. I would like to give you a hint on where it was, but I was blindfolded on the way in. I'm fairly certain that Jim will be content with that being his first and only trip to the snook beach, but I'll join you there anytime. Thanks for a true Baja adventure! Stacy"

We had a great time. This is too much fun!

I am off the water for a few days.

I am taking a few days off the water. The guys are still going out, so if I can run them down and get the daily photos I will post them.

Capt. Craig wrote me again!

Grant,

I'm more than happy to spread the word about your charter service. Knowing the business, and having fished with many charter boats, it's like a breath of fresh air to find a service as professional, and quality minded as yours. Not to mention being in the beautiful global fishing destination, Cabo San Lucas.

We hope to see you in May, for the Red Snapper bite.

Hook em' up!

New sea lion friend

I taught this female sea lion to eat from my mouth in 5 minutes. She's
a real friendly girl. Man I love this job!

Beautiful day on the water

Norm says- Some Sierra and small rosters, beats the snow back home

Steve with a very nice Sierra

Fishing has been slower today, but we are still catching fish

Back in the honey hole

Those darn roosters and snappers didn't want to eat the fly. We went
back to chasing small roosters and Sierra

Steve casting to roosters

The roosters have shown up to the party, but they don't want to play.
It's early yet, maybe the bite will start later when the tide drops.

This is what sierras do to your favorite flies

First fish of the day

A new day. A new fish. This is too much fun!

Daniel Vapnek sent a few pictures of his trip last week.

I enjoyed the trip. My casting definitely improved on the second day when I was using a 400 grain line. Their is a real knack to this type of fishing! Alex and Luis did a great job of teasing up the fish. The rooster was not big but it was feisty. The chef at the hotel prepared the Sierra a bunch of different ways, and it was terrific.
