Beach fishing

Cold morning, at least by my standards. A cold front blew in yesterday, it must be 70 degrees this morning. Bites off, but will keep you posted if we get into fish.

How about this one, I wasn't the Gringo Viejo then.

This had to be early to mid 80s in central Mexican bass lake "Cajon de Pena".. This lake was just south of Puerta Vallarta and my buddy Ricardo Hopkins bought the bass from Mexico City hatchery and had them trucked in. It was great fun to have good bass fishing so close to home ( normally an 12 hour drive north to the bass lakes), that is until the Fishing clubs form Guadalajara found about it.. In the next few years we stopped fishing it, as the bass were getting sores all over their skins, we think it was because of a mine father up stream... But it was heaven while it lasted..

I was young once

This shot was taken mid to late 80s in Alaska... Where has all the time gone? I do have to say, I have been able to fish most everyday of my life, and for that I am blessed. Sill fishing, still living the dream...

Rosen and Sara Lester having a fun day on the water

This is what he woke up to.. I have always appreciated Cabo, but more so now....You guys can have all that snow, it going to be around 85 today and I am going surfing later...

Looking for marlin

We saw 3 marlin so far. Two completely ignored is, but we had one come in do a lookski. Instead of us teasing the fish, the fish teased us.

Marlin time again

Even though it's slow, we are headed back into the marlin waters. Jims sons want to catch a marlin on 30# spinning tackle. Good luck guys

Back on the fish

We spent a very uneventful day marlin fishing, didn't see a thing, so we hedged ourselves and struck in for the shoreline. Right away we are hooked up. You gotta love Cabo.
