Triple dorado

Michel caught 3 big dorado on the fly. Pesky dorado won't leave us alone to fish for marlin. Had a wahoo take a livey teaser, glad he didn't take my sexy marlin fly. Saw two marlin, but didn't even look at the livey thrown their way. Michel wants marlin. Waters still a bit warm, needs to drop about 5 degrees.

Tons of nice dorado on.the fly, but we are looking for marlin n the marlin bite is a bit slow right now. My other boat yesterday got wahoo, tuna and dorado. Man I love Cabo

So here we are 8 miles offshore and this butterfly comes and lands on my marlin fly I have in my hands. How cool is that.

Bottom line is I had a great time.  When we found the fish, it was fast and furious.  Being a novice saltwater fly fisherman, I made my share of mistakes and probably could've hooked another two or three fish.  That's how we learn.

 

Nosario was a great guide and a pleasure to fish with. It's amazing how close to the boat the dorado will come.  It was also way cool to hook a marlin, even though it wasn't on too long.  It was fascinating to watch it all unfold and then actually hook it (I thought Nosario was going to faint J).

 

Thanks again for a great trip.  I will definitely be back to fish with you guys again.

Don and his boys with another YF Tuna. Nothing like a father taking his boys fishing. I am lucky to be able to share the day with them.

As you an see, calm seas and plenty of Tuna, dorado, and skipjacks, marlin fishing has been a bit slow last few days.
